Jessica Botto primarily represents government entities in complex litigation designed to protect public health, safety, and other interests.
Jessica is part of the team representing dozens of governmental entities, including states, counties, and municipalities in litigation targeting the alleged deceptive marketing and over-distribution of highly addictive opioid drugs, a contended cause of the nationwide opioid crisis. Jessica also represents clients in litigation involving human trafficking, financial crimes and toxic exposure. She works closely with expert witnesses in these matters.
Before joining Motley Rice, Jessica worked as a legal intern for a family law firm in Charleston, S.C., while completing her legal studies. She also served as Articles Editor for the Charleston Law Review, Vice President of the Environmental Law Society, Co-executive chair for the 2018 Coastal & Environmental Law Summit, and as a member of Women in Law while in law school.
