Three Years Later: Motley Rice honors Gulf Coast families, businesses and communities
This month marks three years since the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2012, taking the lives of 11 workers and resulting in the massive oil spill that devastated the Gulf of Mexico.
The disaster led to the worst off-shore oil spill in U.S. history, and it is important for us to remember that the spill’s impact continues. In addition to the great loss of human life, the environment will suffer the damage caused by the spill for years to come, and those who depend upon the health of the coast and its waters remain affected by the spill’s tremendous economic consequences.
All of us at Motley Rice LLC would like to take this moment to extend our deepest sympathies to the families, friends and colleagues still mourning the loss of the men who perished on April 20, 2010, and offer our respects to the many people, business and communities that have endured, and continue to endure, great hardship because of the spill.
